How to enable dark mode on WhatsApp web

Just a few days back, WhatsApp had reportedly rolled out the much-awaited Dark Mode feature for its Android Beta version 2.20.13.

You might have already come across the news of WhatsApp getting dark themes soon for both Android and iOS devices. The feature is not officially announced or even confirmed by the company yet. But it turns out you can experience the dark theme on WhatsApp Web now. This was first spotted by WABetaInfo.

 

 

 

All you need to make sure of is that you have the latest a version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox and stylus extension (that will let you apply themes to specific websites) and you are good to go.

 

Follow the step to know how to enable it on Whatsapp web

1. Go to WhatsApp Web on your computer and log in using QR Code. To do this, open WhatsApp on your Android phone and tap on the three-dot option on the right. Now click on WhatsApp Web and scan the QR code appearing on the website on the computer. Similarly, iPhone users open WhatsApp on their phone and go to Settings. Open WhatsApp Web here. Now scan the code on your computer screen and login. 

2. Now on your computer

 Right-click on the WhatsApp web page and select Inspect Element. Now search for body class = "web" . In Safari browser coming to Mac, you have to search for body class = "web text-rendering-bug-fix".

 

3. Now right-click on this line again and click on Edit.

 

4. Now change the body class = "web dark" or Mac to body class = "web dark text- rendering-bug-fix" to.

 

5. Now press Enter on your keyboard or click on any empty space on the webpage.

 

6. Now you can enjoy Dark Mode on your WhatsApp web.

 

If you find this method difficult and you want to enjoy the dark mode without any hassle, then you can use the extension. These are different according to different browsers.

 

1. If you are using Firefox or Google Chrome browser then you can install Stylus addon.

How to enable dark theme on WhatsApp Web

 

Step 1: Install the Stylus extension — for Google Chrome users, for Mozilla Firefox users

 

Step 2: Once the extension is installed in the web browser, go to this link

 

Step 3: You will see several colored themes including dark the theme, select "Install style"

 

Step 4: Go back to WhatsApp Web and reload the page.
